News | Amy Becker-Burnett takes us behind the scenes on new Opus TVC.

Posted November 9, 2017 by Smoke & Mirrors

There’s a new way to keep you moving when only cash will do. Rock Hound’s Amy Becker-Burnett’s brand new TVC for New Day reminds consumers that an Opus Card is the answer to keep you ticking until the end of the month.

The new spot reveals a bold, graphic, minimally branded environment, in which the Opus hoop logo effortlessly rolls around. The aesthetic plays with the viewers’ perception of ‘fantasy vs reality’- marrying 3D, quality, life-like objects with clever transitions, denoting the tactile quality of CG.

Director Amy Becker-Burnett comments, ‘Texture was really important when developing the spot. Each surface was modelled to feel like a specific material, the idea was that it felt like a miniature set. I experimented with creating mini sets during the process. Spray painting various objects and materials, then photographing them to use as direct references for the final build played an important part in achieving the look of the final ad.’
